Conflict Over Prince’s Estate
There seems to be trouble already in the pop star’s family as it is being reported that the legend left no will (which has been confirmed by a Minnesota judge), causing tension over who gets what. The star is allegedly reported to be worth around 150 million and with no children from his former two marriages, his siblings are entitled his estate. The problem however, is that Prince only had one sister (from both his parents) and five other half siblings, and with no written will, all siblings and their children are to get the same amount of inheritance according to Minnesota law. Another problem is no one knows how close he was to these siblings. His full sister- Tyka Nelson had already filled paperwork to get full management over his estate, but the judge appointed Bremer Trust and his bank to oversee and administer instead, but only for six months and the family would have to choose a representative thereafter.
His Minnesota home that is allegedly worth 27 million is to be turned into a museum. Prince left thousands of songs that were only to be released after his death- giving the world another chance to jam to his music.
