POSTED BY ANNA GRAHAM

Not all that long ago in the memory of many, gaming was a bit of a niche hobby. Something played by the outsiders, the nerds if you will, but everything has changed so in no time.

Gaming is one of the most popular and fastest growing pastimes all across the globe today.

With so many different options in the style of game, from sports to warfare to fantasy and so much more, there really is something for everyone.

There are still plenty of people who are dedicated ‘gamers’, who will commit all their free time to improving with hopes of making it as an esports star.

Many gamers, though, are just casual players who enjoy the fact that the quality of games now is so advanced and appealing, they are just nice escapes from everyday life.

In this article we will look at some of the famous celebrities who could well be out there ready to game with you.

Daniel Craig

Unforgetable as James Bond, Daniel Craig isn't sat at home with an old Nintendo 64 playing Goldeneye. The actor's love of storytelling has taken him into gaming, especially the Halo franchise.

The developments in how games like Halo are created has been impressive as a spectacle, but so much work has gone into the story which you play.

Storytelling, especially in Role Playing Games, has helped build a much wider audience and style of gamer, from the serious to the casual, including 007 himself.

Robin Williams

The late, great actor whose legendary films will go down in history. He has given to the world many memorable moments across so many different films that will bring us joy and generations after us.

White not an obsessive gamer, he is known to have had a real soft spot for the Legends of Zelda series. If you need any proof about this, Williams named his daughter after one of the characters in the series.

Tom Holland

As already mentioned, the storylines in games today are such a massive draw for many people when it comes to finding the right game for them.

They have also gotten so good that they are now being developed into movies, and good ones at that.

Starring as the main protagonist, Nathan Drake, in Uncharted the movie, Tom Holland has been on record saying that Uncharted 4 is his favourite game.

Uncharted 4 was one of the best action-adventure games on the Playstation when it came out and no surprise to be a popular one amongst fans of action and adventure games.

Brie Larson

The 21 Jump Street and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World actress was voted one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine back in 2019.

Her influence in different causes such as gender equality is well known, and for this article's benefit, she has also been a gaming influencer on some friends and colleagues.

Larson was seen teaching Tessa Thompson how to play Fortnite, and her love of gaming has seen her be used in Nintendo commercials. She has even had her own YouTube channel where she plays and streams different games.

Will Arnett

The hilarious Will Arnett is easy to enjoy on the screen, and his love for gaming has also seen him get involved.

A huge fan of the Call of Duty franchise, to which he is now to play online against other celebrity friends such as Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis.

His love for the game has seen him team up with Infinity Ward which has seen him provide voiceover work in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009.

Mila Kunis

A long time ago now, but back in 2008, Mila Kunis opened up on Jimmy Kimmel to admit to a bit of an addiction to video games.

It turned out that Kunis was one of a vast number of fans who would immerse themselves in World of Warcraft.

So detailed, with almost endless areas to explore, gamers can lose hours upon hours of their lives completely transfixed with the game.

Kunis was on her way to becoming one of those gamers before deciding to calm her obsession when she realized her agent was logging into the gamer to get in touch with her.

Naomi Osaka

For sports stars like Naomi Osaka, time away from the sport to recover is vital. Gaming is a great way to spend their down time when they need to relax their bodies and recover fully.

A keen Fortnite player, Osaka has taken her love of the game even further and helped to design a custom skin for the game back in March 2022.
