Carrying Colour And Crack Magazine Embrace Sierra Leone In New Hand-Crafted Scarf

The beautiful work of Tamba Thomas truly united design and culture.

POSTED BY TAMRA KAGHEMBE

During his trip to his father's home county Freetown, Sierra Leone music artist Duval Timothy and director Edem Wornoo filmed the live performance of 'First Rain'. The 2018 track from his 2 Sim release, is one of sentiment as it explores the artist's personal experience with his nationality and identity.

Alongside his memorable live show in Sierra Leone, Timothy grasped at another creative opportunity to make exclusic hand-woven scarves. Produced in the workshop of master weaver Tamba Thomas, the limited edition hand-crafted scarves are complete with bold colors and tassels. Although yet to be officially distributed, you'll be happy to know that the exquisite clothing accessory can now be pre-ordered online. With only 100 available, this Carrying Colour and Crack Magazine co-branded piece has been delicately weaved to create a garment only a lucky few will ever own.

Watch Timothy's performance of 'First Rain' to also get a behind-the-curtain glimpse at the beautiful process behind the hand-made scarves.
