Bodybound Aw15: Gravity

POSTED BY DANIJEL VUKOJA

We can’t feel our faces when we look at BODYBOUND’s collections, because all that smiling that is going on makes our faces go a little numb. BODYBOUND is a relatively new menswear brand, which captures the youthful irreverence of London with a spirit of ingenuity. Their punk approach to menswear combines innovative technical fabrics, and engineered knitwear, with a futuristic sensibility. In case you don’t know what that means, just look at the pictures and everything will make absolutely sense. The label was launched in 2012 after the designers Kim and Pliny were selected by Yohji Yamamoto as finalists of the prestigious Hyeres Awards. Not bad, not bad at all… but back to their AW15 collection. The fashion pieces make the distinction between bodily athleticism and evolutionary robotics collapse. The streamlined silhouettes meet muscle-bound harnesses and the blue, black and grey colors underline the futuristic aspect of it. Can somebody bind this collection to our bodies please? This label still makes us smile (and it’s starting to hurt tbh)!
