BEC's music is a reflection of her meticulous journey as an artist. Berlin, her chosen home, lends its unmistakable spirit to her sound, enriching it with a cutting, innovative edge. With her unique musical identity, unparalleled dedication, and the upcoming launch of her new label, BEC has a lot coming up for her in the next few months.

Hey Bec, thanks for taking the time! Tell us a bit about yourself, what have you been up to this year?

The past few weeks I’ve been buried in my music studio in Berlin, before I get back on tour for a busy period till the end of the year! I love this productive time when the weather gets cold and rubbish. nowhere better to be! Luckily I’m off to Australia and the US amongst some other shows yet to be announced shortly. I had a great year, I had my debut in some countries like Brazil where I was playing several shows over Carnival back in February. It’s been a busy year in terms of music; I released the most I ever have with 2 big EPs on Factory 93, one on Kneaded Pains, Filth On Acid, a remix for Eats Everything, an EP, and the latest was a track on Nina Kraviz’s TRIP which just came out two weeks ago! The track is called “Can’t Say We Didn’t Try” and it kicks off a slightly new twist to my sound that you’ll see coming up a lot in the future!

“A Better Mistakes” and “Telekom Electronic Beats” explore the concept of "ALTERED EGOS." How do you interpret this idea, and how does it relate to your work as an artist?

I think it’s the work of an artist to determine how they want to portray themselves in their art, work, on the stage, and online. Sometimes, people choose to show themselves differently than they actually are – Sometimes this is to create more of an “image” of themselves. Sometimes I don’t even think people realize they do. My work in the past period, especially, has been aligning my core authentic self with everything I do, in all aspects of my music, performance, and including how I show myself on my social platforms. So for me, in my personal journey, it’s more about showing an unaltered ego and representation of myself. Self-expression can be tough to crack and ensure it is actually coming from a place of realness, and I feel it comes hand in hand with personal development when you gain more of a deeper understanding of yourself, which I don’t believe comes until one reaches a certain level of maturity and experience, too.

The project emphasizes the different personalities that arise through digital platforms and social encounters. How do you see technology and social media influencing your own art and self-expression?

These digital tools and platforms have transformed the way I create, share, and connect through music. In terms of music creation, technology has opened up new avenues for experimentation and innovation. This has allowed me to explore a wide range of musical genres and styles, pushing the boundaries of my creativity. As for the socials, the instant feedback and interaction on the socials have helped me to engage with my audience, receive real-time responses to my music, and use this feedback to refine my work. Whether it's through live streaming performances, sharing demos, or footage from gigs to share out to a global fanbase.

As an artist, what message or idea do you hope people take away from the "ALTERED EGOS" project and the Limited Ed. Capsule Collection?

I hope to convey a message of self-awareness and reflection on the dynamic nature of human identity. The project is a celebration of the different personas and social identities we embrace in our lives, particularly in the digital age. I hope people take away the idea that these "altered egos" are not necessarily inauthentic but rather a complex mosaic of who we are.

What's next for you in your artistic journey?

For NYE, I’m heading back to the states, I’ll be playing at Countdown SoCal in San Bernardino on Dec 30th, followed by more dates TBA by my great new agency for the Americas, Liaison. There’s some super thrilling musical announcements to make too, on some new labels I’ve not released on before (too early for me to say which), but I’m sure it will leave people feeling surprised!x

I’m also suuuuper excited to be launching a new concept label, which I won’t reveal the name of just yet. We have a very special collaboration lined up for the first release of myself with one of my favorite artists. I’ll leave it to a surprise, and in the meantime, you can start guessing who it might be with!
