Beabadoobee Drops Music Video For Last Day On Earth
The singer imagines life before the pandemic.
Beabadoobee has released the music video for her latest single Last Day on Earth and the nostalgia of pre-lockdown freedom is prevalent.
Last Day on Earth describes all the things that the singer would have done had she known there was about to be a global pandemic. Written by Beabadoobee and the 1975’s Matty Healy, the track emulates the feel of a 90s teen film, an impression that is often left after listening to a Beabadoobee song.
Directed by Arnaud Bresson, the music video combines seamless transitions with a montage of clips to emulate party culture and the essence of adolescence. The video appears hazy, imitating the wishful thinking that coincides with the lyrics. Yet the atmosphere of a party is vivid through the use of quick cuts and unstable camera movements.
Alongside the release of Last Day on Earth the singer announced that she will be realising an EP entitled Our Extended Play which will come out later this year. The EP is produced by Matty Healy and George Daniel and will follow on from her debut album, Fake it Flowers, that was released last October.
Beabadoobee will be touring the U.K and Ireland in September, tickets are available here.
