Balmain x Beyoncé Beychella Launching Friday
You can now be Bey.
Queen B only just released Apeshit with husband Jay Z and now she's taking us back to the historical Beychella. The marching band uniforms inspired by historically Black universities and colleges, tailored by Balmain's Olivier Rousteing, will be available as of Friday July 13th at the Paris Balmain Flagship store.
The 3 piece collection will be made available on beyonce.com and balmain.com the next day. Beyhive, you'll get to wear the yellow and pink sweatshirt Queen B wore herself on stage, as well as a sorority-inspired black tee. (Internal Screaming).
Rouesting coins this collaboration as Beyoncé's embodiment of giving hope to a Black welcoming future, something he wished he grew up with in France, as well as a historical moment that encourages to never stop dreaming captured in clothing.
“Beyoncé...[is] about feminism, empowering women, and the idea of bringing that...[to]... a collaboration...It’s a strong message”, Rouesting goes on to say. He preaches a collaboration of fashion and music to reach and create and "An entire nation".
Proceeds from the charity collection will go to benefit the United Negro College Fund. Beyoncé donated $100,000 after her Coachella appearance to 4 historically Black colleges.
“The donation was the main goal of this collaboration,” says Rousteing. “We don’t forget where we come from. This is really, really important – I come from an orphanage. I think there is something really emotional about our collaboration.”
It is so inspirational for Bey and Olivier doing wonders for the Black Community!
