Balenciaga Release An Unwearable Shoe

Luxury brand create a limited edition sneaker

POSTED BY MALIN JONES

Paying homage to the popular Track.2 sneaker, Balenciaga have released a shoe to celebrate the beloved silhouette.

Made from 16 moulded pieces of silver brass, that have been soldered together one by one, the sculpture reflects the layered design along with capturing the sneakers texture and branding details.

The detailed silver shoe was made in Italy and resembles a Euro 41 sized sneaker. The polished shoe retails for $5,750 USD and is a limited edition piece with only 20 available.

The new release is part of a new category named ‘objects’, where the category will consist of collectibles to items of everyday use. Throughout the year they’ll be introduced individually.

Just like the sneaker sculpture, which acknowledged the shoe’s place in popular culture and daily life, we can expect the future releases to follow a similar ethos.
