BACK TO THE FUTURE: We Style Retro Inspired Streetwear Into Fashion-Forward Ensembles
The revival of sportswear.
Kaj Lehner’s moody photos style retro inspired streetwear into fashion-forward ensembles. The recent revival of sportswear means that when the model, styled by Jana Höft, wears combinations of vintage tracksuits and modern pieces it isn’t always clear which is which, since so many retro styles have circled back into the current trends.
With the deeply contrasted, shadowy images and grey brutalist architecture in the background these oversized, androgynous outfits become very futuristic, very powerful, even slightly intimidating.
As mentioned before the shoot includes several one-off vintage pieces, but also features garments by streetwear and fashion giants such as Stussy, Adidas X Palace, Nike and Off White X Gore Tex.
The natural, glowing make-up and unusual bobbled hair are the work of MUA Meret Schneebeli and the powerful, confident model is Amelie.
