Ariana Grande Calls Out Grammy Producer For Lying About Why She’s Not Performing

Thank you, next

Ariana Grande has called out Grammys Ken Ehrlich after he told the Associated Press that Grande would not be performing or attending the Grammys because she “felt it was too late for her to pull something together.”

On her Twitter, Grande shared a screenshot of the AP piece and explained that wasn’t the case at all; they would not let her have the creative freedom she wanted to choose what she’d perform.

“I’ve kept my mouth shut but now your lying about me, I can pull together a performance overnight and you know that, Ken.” Ariana stated.

“It was when my creativity and self-expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend. I hope the show is exactly what you want it to be and more.” She continued, adding a heart emoji at the end.

“I offered 3 different songs, it’s about collaboration. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about art and honesty. Not politics. Not doing favors or playing games. It’s just a game y’all… and I’m sorry but that’s not what music is to me.” She wrote.

The tweets come after it was widely reported that Grande would not attend the Sunday award show, despite being nominated for two Grammys.

Sources close to the situation told Variety that Grande and the producers had a disagreement with them over which song she would sing.

One source said Grande felt “insulted” after producers initially refused to let her perform “7 Rings” her newest single from Thank U, Next.

They compromised and said that 7 Rings can be part of the medley but insisted that they pick the second song. That didn’t work for Grande, who pulled out of performing and attending the Grammys mainly due to the fact no other artist was given the same stipulation.

Grande’s tweets seem to confirm the reports.
