Alexa Chung x Barbour Collab Is The Style Pinnacle Of British Heritage
Your ultimate Glasto’ get up is finally here.
This year sees the classic British label, Barbour, celebrating its 125th anniversary. What better way to celebrate than launching a new collaborative collection with British designer, Alexa Chung.
The collection is all about reinventing the Barbour heritage aesthetic into a new, ‘waxy dream’ within the ALEXACHUNG vision.
Chung is known to be a country girl at heart, living in the decadent British landscape with her family and pony, Pip, as a young girl. “For me, Barbour has been part of my childhood, my coming of age, and I am extraordinarily proud that it is now part of my future.”
Her upbringing strongly influences her designs within the collection, she has adapted the silhouettes to how she would personally wear traditional Barbour pieces. Think shorter sleeves, fitted shapes, and bold linings, which express the personality of her eponymous brand. Details of patchwork, quilt and gingham compliment neutral, relaxed tones to create a modern twist on the English Heritage style.
Sophisticated yet practical, the collection also has a range of accessories to compliment the looks. The first installment was dropped at the beginning of summer, and more launches run over the year, perfect as the cooler months draw in and festival season matures. The collection features a wide range of chic silhouettes and accessories to choose from, including the Hazel Casual Jacket, Annie Quilted Jacket and Bez Wax Bucket Hat, available now.
