Prepare for an unprecedented celebration of technology and creativity as the AI Film Academy (AIFA) hosts its inaugural AIFA Awards in Lisbon on May 28, 2024. This red-carpet event, held in collaboration with the Non Fungible Conference, will occur at the iconic Carlos Lopes Pavilion in Parque Eduardo VII. This marks the official debut of AIFA, an innovative platform poised to democratize the film industry through the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology.

Empowering a New Generation of Filmmakers

AIFA, co-founded by Clare Maguire and Leo Crane, is set on breaking down the barriers that have long plagued the film industry.

Clare Maguire has over a decade of experience managing and advising brands, entrepreneurs, and creators. An expert in tech, growth, marketing, social media, blockchain, and AI technology, Maguire has helped companies reach audiences of over 50 million and is an angel investor in blockchain and AI startups. “For too long, studios and corporations have restricted opportunities to a privileged few, those within the system who have access to huge budgets and exclusive networks,” said Maguire. “With AI and blockchain, we are breaking down these barriers and empowering creatives worldwide.”

Leo Crane is a producer, artist, and educator with 25 years of experience bridging physical and digital industries. He has founded three creative studios and built long-standing relationships with cultural institutions such as the V&A and Sotheby's Institute. Specializing in animation, Crane's work has been widely exhibited, published, and broadcast, earning multiple awards. Crane highlighted the game-changing potential of blockchain technology: “Blockchain technology has revolutionized the way creatives can monetize, distribute, and authenticate their work. It provides unprecedented transparency and opens new avenues for artists to connect with audiences and collectors.”
