Adidas Originals Team Up With Overkill For The New ZX 8500
A shoe inspired by colorful and expressive graffiti.
For their latest launch, Adidas Originals are teaming up with the iconic Berlin Street-style brand Overkill, to launch a new edition of their ZX sneakers titled ‘ZX 8500 OVERKILL’. This new sneaker combines what Overkill does best – expressive and colourful releases that pay homage to the brand’s graffiti magazine roots.
The new release can be seen as a hybrid of previous ZX designs, combining the silhouette of the ZX 8000, “lace ghillies from the ZX 5000 and overlays from the ZX 9000”. A nod to Berlin’s underground scene and graffiti culture is explored through the use of vibrant yellows, pinks and purples throughout, paired with “concrete look toe overlays” and matching Overkill embroidering down the front side of the shoe. Further branding is seen in the form of “OK” tags on both tongue tags, heel caps and even on a removable shoe cover designed specifically for spray painting.
The Adidas Originals X Overkill ZX 8500 sneakers will launch globally on April 30th online, and retail for approximately $165 USD.
