Adidas Originals Tape Lotta Volkova For ‘70s Inspired Collection'
‘70s meets Y2K'
Contemporary fashion maverick and Balenciaga stylist, Lotta Volkova, has teamed up with adidas Originals in a reinterpretation of the brand’s earliest designs for a modern take on heritage sportswear.
Turning to the adidas archives for inspiration, Volkova commandeered some of the brand’s designs from the ‘70s and injected her own signature aesthetic, a mix of knockoff culture and Y2K fashion, to each piece.
One standout item from the footwear in the collection is the Trefoil Mule, which is a heeled reinterpretation of the iconic adilette. The open toe platform features a striking Trefoil logo on the upper strap framed by Three Stripes branding, arriving in black-red and red-white colorways.
On the apparel side, adidas’ sporting roots shine through in relaxed-fit tracksuits, windbreaker jackets and jumpsuits. One-shouldered asymmetric tops, high-rise swimsuits and tennis skirts all encompass the ‘70s vibe, doused in vivid colors reminiscent of retro aerobics gear. Rounding up the collaboration are accessories including an attention-stealing racket bag splashed with shocking bubblegum pink with a statement paddle pocket.
You can shop the Lotta Volkova x adidas Originals collection on the adidas website, in stores and selected retailers worldwide.
