Adidas Introduces Their New Take On The Iconic Superstar Sneaker

The half-century old sneaker takes on a modern day twist.

POSTED BY EMILY BARKHAM

The Adidas Superstar has been an iconic design since its release in 1969. Being a veteran in the sneaker world you would think the Adidas design team would have exhausted all ways in which to update and rework those famous three stripes. However, the brand have just released their new take on the Superstar which features pastel accents and trefoil embroidery.

The classic silhouette of the Superstar remains untouched, smooth white leather and rubber soles with the shell-toe stand steadfast. The unmissable stripes are a perfect pastel purple color, the heel tab following suit. The trefoil embroidery flourishes the sneaker with detail, adding an eye-catching feature to the design of the shoe. The patches are shades of pink and purple to produce a color transition effect, the badges overlapping – a design seen regularly on Adidas footwear and garments. These sneakers appear as though dipped in ice cream, they are both sweet and feminine yet in true Adidas style…functional. The sole of the shoe features a herringbone-tread that helps increase traction factor, finishing off the sneaker.

The Superstars will be dropped on Adidas’ website on 1st July at a total cost of $85 USD.
