A Closer Look At The MM6 Maison Margiela x The North Face Collab

Both weather and style approved.

POSTED BY HANNAH SMITH

The womenswear label MM6 Maison Margiela, sometimes dubbed as Maison Margiela’s younger sister, pounded down the catwalk at LFW with their A/W 20 collection. The collection was presented in an intimate setting, within the tomb-like walls of 180 The Strand. There were four interconnected rooms with low-light and thin walk-ways. Model’s brush by in a spotlight from photographer’s flashes.

The collection celebrated a collaboration with outerwear genius The North Face. It incorporated pieces from The North Face’s Expedition System range, which was introduced in the 90s - a selection of detachable pieces to layer, designed for all weather conditions. We know what you’re thinking, an appropriate collection during a stormy February night in London.

MM6 incorporates its circle motif throughout the pieces, in both manipulation and circular patterns. The North Face stays true to its color palette of bright blue, orange and pink for their much-loved puffer jackets. The rest of the collection sports bright knits, zebra prints and distressed denim.

The collab is expected to drop in certain flagship stores for both MM6 and The North Face as well as online, in September 2020.
