90's Super Model Linda Evangelista Files $50M Lawsuit Over Cosmetic Procedure That Left Her Permanently Disfigured
This iconic 90's model has finally decided to share her story.
After hiding in the shadows for the last five years, iconic 1990's supermodel Linda Evangelista took to Instagram to share her painful experience with CoolSculpting, a fat-reducing cosmetic procedure.
Evangelista writes, "To my followers who have wondered why I have not been working while my peers' careers have been thriving, the reason is that I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq's CoolSculpting procedure which did the opposite of what it promised."
Since the model underwent the procedure in 2016, she has been suffering from Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), which increases fat cells and leaves firm tissue masses in the treatment area. Evangelista was not warned of the potential risks before the procedure.
The 56-year-old model has officially filed a lawsuit against Zeltiq Aesthetics and seeks $50 million in damages and lost wages.
The model explains, "PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, but it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression, profound sadness, and the lowest depths of self-loathing. In the process, I have become recluse." Evangelista bravely took to Instagram to share that she will no longer be living in the shadows and is reclaiming her power by sharing her story.
