Wanda Nylon Fall 2017 Juxtaposes Retro Vibes With Futuristic Touches
The label brought a fresh concept to Paris Fashion Week
Wanda Nylon, the brainchild of Parisian Johanna Senyk, presented a fall 2017 collection at Paris Fashion Week and featured 30 offbeat looks for independent, feminine women. Back in July, Senyk won the highly prestigious ANDAM award, a prize that’s also been claimed by Iris Van Herpen, Christophe Lemaire, and Martin Margiela, so it’s safe to say she’s a name you should keep on your fashion radar.
Wanda Nylon’s fall 2017 aesthetic was far-out as usual and seamlessly meshed together seventies disco touches with a futuristic vibe. Senyk sought to celebrate strong women with her fall collection, and her designs certainly made a powerful statement as she contrasted volumes and materials.
Her outerwear was definitely not for the timid; with extreme necklines, bright furs and lots of Lurex and vinyl, every single piece was a standout. In the collection, the designer also juxtaposed her synthetic fabrics with natural cowhide and sheepskin to emphasize the collection’s textural playfulness.
A boundary-pushing, futuristic explosion of ideas, Wand Nylon’s fall 2017 collection certainly provides plenty of pieces for fashion-forward peacocks to blow their cash on.
