All The Womenswear Looks From Y-3's Fall/Winter 2018 Collection
Oversized perfection.
The Yohji Yamamoto and adidas Y-3 collaboration has endured for over 15 years – and it shows. The sporty triple stripes and athleisure influences effortlessly marry with Yamamoto's elevated and innovative streetwear approach. Fittingly, Y-3's Fall/Winter 2018 collection was entitled “Nice to Meet You,” nodding both to the collaboration and the design interplay between footwear and clothing. “You will see a nice collaboration between shoes and garments, like making a marriage,” said Nic Galway, chief designer and Vice President of Global Design at adidas, before the show.
The womenswear looks were all oversized everything – hoodies, track pants, sweaters, boiler suits, scarves and hats – with the outerwear items stealing the show. There's ingenious deconstructed takes on classic track jackets as well as quilted bombers, wool overcoats and autumnal floral prints that wouldn't look out of place on your nana's couch cushions.
In terms of sneakers, the Erika, a white neoprene mesh sock, and the Kaiwa, featuring protruding midsoles, were introduced.
