Off-White Pre-Fall 2018 Is Tailoring With A Twist
Smarten up.
Boss bitch for beginners. That's what comes to mind when we look at the tailored silhouettes and heritage prints and fabrications of Off-White's Pre-Fall 2018 collection. The brand's streetwear soul is still peeking out from beneath a swathe of houndstooth prints – the signature diagonal stripes, the workwear strapping, the state-the-obvious quotations and the odd sneaker or bomber jacket – but the aesthetic is much more “grown-up” and sophisticated. “These are clothes I couldn't have made before,” said Virgil Abloh.
You can imagine the deconstructed suits and long dresses as the clothes that the fashion girl would wear to an important meeting, or stealing the show at a court appearance. And although streetwear generally encompasses the younger generation, Off-White's Pre-Fall 2018 collection provides just enough hipness for the badass older woman. Lace and leather adds a tough finishing touch, screaming, don't mess with me.
