The New Nike Air Max Plus Prove Purple Is Underrated

A toned-down taupe.

POSTED BY DEE CUNNING

Purple isn't the world's most wearable color, it has to be said, but Nike's new Air Max Plus are the perfect toned-down taupey alternative for transitional feet. (Unfortunately, by transitional we don't mean that these sneaks actually change the color of your feet, or add webs between your toes – although that would be a very useful swimming aid this time of year).

The grungey “Taupe Grey” shoe features a mauve mesh upper, constructed with taupey leather overlays. The sole is a contrasting bright white, with purple inserts throughout. The new Nike Air Max Plus is also available in equally understated “Red Stardust” and “Arctic Orange” colorways and is available at selected stockists, like Titolo for $200.
