As a child, Natasha was fascinated by comic books. As she got older, illustrators Rene Gruau and Antonio Lopez became her ultimate source of inspiration. They both sketched elegant women wearing high-fashion designs during the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

“I was hooked on this art form,” says Natasha, “I bought every possible book on fashion illustration to study various figure drawing techniques until I finally developed my own style.”

She definitely uncovered her unique style.

The world of Natasha Joseph is an effortless balance of high-fashion and everyday life, with a playful edge. There are chic, elongated figures dressed head to toe in Carolina Herrera and a woman taking a stroll with her perfect poodle in a white trench coat hiding what can only be imagined as a fabulous black tulle ballgown. Giraffes are dressed to the nines, sipping martinis on a date night at Bemelmans. A lipstick-stained coffee cup sits beside a vibrant green handbag stuffed with yellow flowers and a newspaper (also known as Natasha’s Monday Essentials).

Natasha states that finding the right audience was a challenge, but she found her niche when a client asked her to create live sketches at a brand event.

“[It] required me to draw sketches of guests within minutes,” she explains, “but I was up for the challenge and really enjoyed the experience.” Soon enough, Natasha found herself in demand as a live event illustrator for fashion events, weddings, and corporate functions.

Over the holiday season, the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself. Natasha found herself in Honolulu, Hawaii flaunting her talent for whipping up stylish sketches at an event for Saks Fifth Avenue x Dior Beauty.

The fashion industry doors were flung wide open, and a whirlwind of events ensued.  Pulled between the Mayfair flagship stores of Fendi, Prada and Givenchy, Natasha has found herself living every fashion illustrator’s dream.
