The Highly-Anticipated Follow-Up to Kate's Summer Banger "Never Enough

“Name Out Your Mouth”

“Name Out Your Mouth” is the follow-up to Kate’s previous output, the summer banger “Never Enough”; coming through as the first taste of You Had to Be There which saw Kate make a splash with tastemakers like Wonderland, Ones to Watch, Popjustice and ENFNTS TERRIBLES, as well as spins from Travis Mills on Apple Music’s The Travis Mills Show and Victoria Jane’s Future Soul on BBC Radio 1.

Getting her start by signing to Warner Music as ‘KStewart’, Kate soon found herself pigeon-holed by the label, who promised pop superstardom if she silently co-operated with the ‘cookie cutter’ pop-dance mould they had carved out. This was not an option for the outspoken, R&B-driven Kate; she soon took herself out of the major label machine after constant creative clashes and unhappiness with the path they wanted her to go down.

After a slew of well-received, R&B-leaning indie singles peppered throughout the years, which have seen Kate work with a wide variety of talent ranging from Shy FX and AKA Block (Skepta / Ashnikko) to MNEK and Kevin Theodore (Mac Miller / Sabrina Claudio), 2023 will become another milestone moment in Kate’s career as she gears up for the much-anticipated release of You Had to Be There, her first body of work in five years.
