Lana Del Rey Shakes Off Her Summertime Sadness For New "Lust For Life" Album Cover
And it's giving us some serious retro vibes.
Last month, Lana Del Rey announced a new album called "Lust For Life." She revealed the news via a cryptic, imagery-filled, black-and-white trailer video, with plenty of hidden tie-ins to the album. Now, the singer has shared the cover art for the forthcoming record.
On Tuesday, Del Rey uploaded the art to her Instagram along with the caption: “Album cover — Lust for Life.” From the looks of the cover, it appears the singer has finally shaken off her “summertime sadness” and is all smiles heading into her new project. In addition, the cover has a distinctly retro vibe, like an old pic your parents stored away in your attic for too many years— and that’s probably exactly what Del Rey was going for. In an interview with BBC radio, she shared that she’s been writing the album for the last 15 months, and she “started out thinking that the whole record was going to have sort of a, like, a ’50s, ’60s feeling, with some kind of Shangri-La, early Joan Baez influences.”
A release date for the album has yet to be announced, so you’ll just have to keep listening to her dreamy single “Love” on repeat while we await further news. See the newly released album cover and the album trailer below:
