A Lesson In Construction: Ksenia Schnaider Cruise '18 Focuses On Craftsmanship
Denim, fur, doodle prints and checkered applications.
For Cruise 2018, Ksenia Schnaider continues to interpret classic wardrobe pieces in their own way. By successfully transforming common shapes, cuts and materials, the label once again shines a spotlight on their garments’ immaculate construction.
The basis of the new collection is denim. Cruise 2018 sees the classic Demi-Denim reimagined in pastel colorways. All fabrics were dyed exclusively for Ksenia Schnaider, and the shades look as if they faded under the burning sun—pale lemon, dirty pink, greyish blue and desertsand.
The other standout element of the collection is a classic checkered print. Designer Anton Schnaider destroyed the pattern’s stiffness and formality by using markers and playfully drawing in his own version of the print by hand. Dresses with the unique print are available in three lengths—mini, midi and maxi. Fellow designer Ksenia Schnaider put her hands on the print as well but approached it from a different angle. She created colorful applications from braids, shoelaces and ribbons. Denim shorts, a skirt, white cotton tops and blouses can be seen decorated with this embellishment.
Once again, Ksenia Schnaider has succeeded in transforming ordinary designs into a standout collection. View the Cruise 2018 lookbook below, and head over to Ksenia Schnaider’s website to shop the range.
