High Fashion Twitter's Annual Virtual Met Gala: Unveiling 'The Garden of Time' Creations.

In 2020, like everything else, the Met Gala was postponed. So, eleven women from High Fashion (HF) Twitter decided to host their own virtual met gala. Speaking in a Vogue article the creator of the HF Twitter Met Gala, Aria Olson, said that their community inspired the gala – a collective of fashion enthusiasts whose minds brim with extensive knowledge and incredible talent. 

Four years on, HF Twitter still hosts a virtual version of the gala. Every year they follow the same theme as the gala. This year the theme is “The Garden of Time” inspired by the Met exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. 


Participants can choose to enter a look in many different forms: fashion illustration, mood boards, storytelling, or designing and wearing an outfit. An immense amount of time and research goes into the looks, and it is clear by the talent on display that much of the High Fashion Twitter community will one day find themselves ascending the Met steps.
