Bella Hadid Finally Unfollows Her Ex The Weeknd On Instagram
One of the first steps of getting over an ex? Unfollowing them on Instagram ASAP. Now, about five months after their relationship ended, Bella Hadid has finally unfollowed The Weeknd on the social media platform. As of yesterday, the rapper’s name was noticeably missing from the list of people she follows.
When The Weeknd and Selena Gomez were first photographed making out back in January, exactly two months after he and Hadid officially broke up, Hadid unfollowed Gomez on Instagram. However, The Weeknd remained on her following list for months, even after he and Gomez both unfollowed her March 23.
In February, Hadid shared with Teen Vogue that she had a tough time ending it with The Weeknd. "It was my first breakup... and so public. As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily," she said. "It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through."
Perhaps this unfollow signifies Hadid’s effort to pull through and concentrate on her own life rather than keeping tabs on an ex. "I’m just really focusing on myself, and my work and just being the best that I can be. I’m not really worried about what guys think about me, I’m just trying to be a woman!" Hadid told Porter Magazine.
While Hadid has handled the breakup gracefully, a social media breather may be just what the doctor ordered for Hadid to move on and “be the best she can be.”
