The Future Has No Gender Because We Are Mortals
The concept of “His & Her’s” is out with the trash and blurred into sooo 20th century insignificance, at future focussed, LA based brand: We Are Mortals.
We know that Caitlyn Jenner kicked ass on the Vanity Fair cover recently, we know that love wins and we know, as Anji Becker – Founder and Creator of We Are Mortals –  knows, that, innovation doesn’t exist without diversity and inclusion. The ‘Mortals “the future has no gender” message is bang on the live beyond binary zeitgeist; gender free, urban sportswear pieces, made for fluid times and people with fresh ideas.
This is about wearing your personality, and not your gender identity, with a debut collection of six interchangeable, unisex styles, designed in streetwear silhouettes and in a mixable “this will work with my closet” monochrome palette. A fusion of shorts and t-shirts staples, one-of-a-kind cool finds in the ‘Kimono Hoodie’ and the âCover-Pieceâ unisex skirt, featuring the seriously covetable, geometric liquid silver artwork, of Jennifer Mehigan.
Sensing it was a time to take risks, and embracing”YOLO” in it’s truest, pioneering – Â more cherish it, less f**k it – Â sense, Anji moved across country to Los Angeles a year ago to establish her burgeoning brand, inspired by the creative force of her mum, who, along with her dad, sadly passed away. With a genuine passion, and savvy sense of the now, We Are Mortals is now live on Kickstarter, with a week to go; pledge worthy, wicked-cool wearables.
