With the most anticipated movie of the year dropping on July 21, the season to make the movie our whole personality is fast approaching. The upcoming release of Barbie means we’re thinking of a very pink Summer.
We’ve seen a lot of pink on red carpets this year from the likes of Zendaya and Jessica Chastain. As Margot Robbie is set to play Barbie, we can hope to see her and her cast mates bring a lot of pink energy during the Barbie film premieres and press tour.
The color seems to be THE trending color this summer with brands such as Valentino and Laquan Smith showcasing a lot of blushed pieces in their recent collections. Versace’s recent resort with Dua Lipa seemed very Barbiecore. The singer described the collection as “It’s fun, it’s flirty, it’s really the summer colors.” With Lipa being a part of the Barbie cast and soundtrack, we can’t help but think she used the blonde hair doll as her inspo. From the pastel colors of Ken blue and Barbie Pink, the Italian brand made it clear it’s time to add some fun to our wardrobe in 2023.
