Soleful Saturdays: Air Jordan Xii Retro “Ovo White”

POSTED BY ANTHONY COELHO

Back by popular demand, we just couldn’t wait until Monday morning to give our sneakerhead readers the scoop on this limited edition pair of Jordan 12s. Scheduled for release today at select Jordan-brand retailers, Nike have decided to drop some serious heat at the end of ‘Summer Sixteen’ in conjunction with Drake’s label imprint ‘OVO’ to keep the Hip Hop world sweating in their soles. The 6-time platinum ‘6 God’ is no stranger to collaborations with Nike and Jordan, having already released custom versions of the Air Jordan X Retro in white and more recently, in black too.

Available in only white and metallic gold at the moment, this exclusive version of the high top Jordan 12s features a coarse stingray leather toe that wraps around halfway toward the outsides of the premium leather upper. The two then sit comfortable on its bright white midsole that has been accented in a metallic gold ‘Jumpman’ logo both inside and out. The lacing system and the tongue also feature a touch of metallic gold, before finishing off with the infamous ‘OVO’ logo on the insole and icy translucent outsole of the shoe. The only downfall to this phenomenal pair being the tendency for dirt to ruin them, just like EVERY other pair of bleached white sneakers you have ever owned. Prepare to keep a toothbrush on deck wherever you step!

So whether you were camping outside of local shoe stores and Footlockers, or placing massive preorders on sketchy under-the-radar shoe sites—or even harassing your ‘shoe plug’ at 1 AM this morning—it’s safe to say that it was well worth the hassle to get your hands on such a pair of Jordan kicks. While the sneakerhead community and Drizzy Drake fan base often coincide as one, even an outsider to both would see these shoes as ones to consider for their personal wardrobe, as they are subtle, stylish, and soaked in swag all at once. Enjoy!
