Selena Gomez's Hairstylist Reveals How To Achieve Her New Blonde Hair
In just one day.
If you're a natural brunette with a history of bleach disasters, it's likely you no longer agree that the grass is greener on the other side, or that blondes actually have more fun. Well, not until Selena Gomez stepped out lately with the most gorgeous blonde makeover, in an absolutely perfect shade. We know, right? Hairstylists everywhere have been telling us it takes months to achieve such a cool blonde hue – if we don't want our hair to fall out, that is. So how da fuq did Selena manage to get away with it?
Luckily for wannabe blondes, Gomez's hair stylists Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee have spilled the beans, sharing the exact how-to for achieving the so-called “Nirvana Blonde.” Best news of all: it's possible in just one day.
In an Instagram post addressing fellow hairstylists, Capri wrote: “When your client brings in a picture of #NirvanaBlonde, you pull up this informational insta 😏 and let them know it took 9 hours, about 300 foils, and 8 bowls of bleach, all with 2 stylist[s] working together simultaneously.” The process isn't easy, but the results are clearly worth it. “It was a nice long patient process of baby fine slices, then going back and opening each foil and reapplying, but done in one sitting,” she writes. “Anything is possible in one day, it just takes time, no other clients ha, and patience to maintain the integrity of the hair.”
Addressing us clients, she continues, “And to all you clients that want this, hopefully this explains the process a bit better so you can now be VERY patient with your stylist.” Basically, get a couple of very patient professionals to do it, and do not – we repeat, do not – try this at home.
