PUMA Strikes The Chunky Trend With 2 New Thunder Electric Colorways
Balenciaga Triple-S, is that you?
Love 'em or hate 'em, the chunky sneaker trend is still going stronger than Popeye on three cans of spinach. And, if you ask us, we might as well revel in it, if only for the collective amusement/horror of looking back at our tagged photos in ten or twenty years time. A mullet moment, but for feet.
Even PUMA, usually on the sleeker side of things, has decided to get in on the action, unveiling two new colorways of its Thunder Electric. The sneaker draws design elements from its McQ Tech Runner Low, designed, of course, by the late, great Alexander McQueen.
Also, you'd be lying to yourself if you didn't admit to wanting to buy these precisely for the Balenciaga Triple-S rip-off aesthetics. Look, there ain't nothin' wrong with a good rip-off – especially if you fancy saving yourself a few hundred bucks.
The first colorway is clean gray/white with a pop of blue on the heel and a metallic silver PUMA stripe. While the more boisterous second option boasts multiple shades of gray on the upper, a tan midsole and gum outsole, blue on the heel and a purple PUMA stripe.
There's no official release or pricing info just yet, but look out for them dropping soon at PUMA.
Next up, Nike is delivering more punchy Air Max 270 colorways.
