OBEY Women 2017 Fall Captures A Disenchanted Suburban Girl Gang
“Work where you must but live and shop in hell.”
There's something about suburbia. An indistinct neighborhood sprawl, it's somewhere but also nowhere. It's a cultural void. It festers dark secrets. It's boring – or at least pop culture would have us think so.
In its atmospheric new 2017 Fall lookbook, OBEY Women explores one of the must-have suburban motifs: the disenchanted youth. The bored-looking teenagers hang out (literally) all over the neighborhood in effortless printed tees and sweaters and throw-on bomber jackets – but not a smile in sight. And if you needed any more proof of these girls' feels, keep an eye out for that old wishing well.
