Lady Gaga Reportedly Testifying In Dr. Luke's Kesha Lawsuit
The singer is stepping up for her friend and fellow abuse survivor.
Kesha may have made a triumphant return with her new album 'Rainbow' but she's not out of the woods yet when it comes to her legal battles with Dr. Luke over claims that he physically and emotionally abused her. In the latest development, reported by Page Six, Kesha's close friend Lady Gaga has stepped up to testify in the defamation case.
Lady Gaga had reportedly been summoned to court back in July by the producer's lawyers for a deposition regarding a text message conversation she had with Kesha in 2013. Dr. Luke claims that those texts explain how he allegedly assaulted her. Gaga initially submitted a four-page “heavily redacted” spreadsheet of the conversation. Now the singer has agreed to appear in court in September, where she is also expected to hand over un-redacted copies of the documents.
"Lady Gaga has always been prepared to testify so long as reasonable limitations were established. That has now been accomplished," her lawyer said in a statement. There has been no comment to Page Six from Dr. Luke's representatives or Kesha's legal team.
