Kimmy J's Collection "Disposal Squad" Keeps The Dirt Off Of The Streets

The A/W 17 Collection Has Combined Sustainability With Glam And Garbage With Beauty

Meet Korean Seoul based fashion brand Kimmy J!

With designer Heejin Kim behind, Kimmy J has the last couple of years challenged the art and fashion world with their futuristic glamour - and this year wasn't an exception. Their newest collection showed at New York Fashion Week called "Disposal Squad" has a rather unconventional inspiration that stimulates every freaky fashion fantastic!

The collection came to life when Kimmy J started noticing the punctuality of the street garbage cleaners and recognised them as a sort of super hero squad, keeping the streets clean from sinful garbage and dirt. Their uniforms could through the eyes of a super designer easily be translated into fashion as they were already characterised by neon color and layers. She added details of achromatic colors, textures reminiscent of plastic and vinyl and badass space raver vibes!

It was an ultra referential show, incorporating literal street style and uniforms to high fashion in a powerful, albeit slightly confusing effect.
