The Internet Is Freaking Out About Kim Kardashian's First Lady 'Interview' Cover
If Trump can make president, is Kim K in the Whitehouse really that implausible?
Ten years since Keeping Up With The Kardashians first hit our screens and Kim K's having a bit of a media moment. There was that family cover shoot with Hollywood Reporter – “How a Sex Tape Led to a Billion-Dollar Brand” – then, of course, Kim dressing up as '90s icons Lil' Kim and Pamela Anderson in the new CR Fashion Book. The big mags are all nodding their heads in agreement: Kim has become an icon of our times. Ask most people on Twitter, though, and they'd probably say that her new Interview cover, where she plays the part of America's new first lady, is going a little too far – but, I mean, if Trump can make president than a reality TV star in the Whitehouse isn't really that far-fetched.
“American dream” Kim Kardashian and daughter North West share the Interview September cover, a nod to “another mother who captivated the American audience”: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Come on, they knew this was going to be controversial! The Steven Klein-lensed editorial is accompanied by an intimate interview in which she talks about raising her children with Kanye West and her multimillion dollar business – which she says isn’t recognized enough: “Okay, give a girl a little respect.”
Of course, Twitter has pretty much gone bananas, calling the Jackie Kennedy reference blasphemy. Check out the shots below.
