Dutch Makeover For Nike Air Max 1 & Zoom Spiridon

Piet Parra X Nike hook up again.

POSTED BY HANEEN WÓJCIK

Parra and Nike are back at it again with their magical collaborations. This time the Dutch artist asked one question:

"How could I do something that has not already been done?”

Parra, for the hype generation, has been responsible for the most historically captivating color ways for the Air Max 1. It has been a decade since the last of color ways he designed has launched. Parra's design process is to question everything. He questions who his audience is: The Collector vs. The Hype Kid, he questions the risks in his designs, he questions how he can bridge the generation gap within his designs.

Parra is adaptable and transitional, having started off as a designer to focusing on painting. His current collaboration design is about the merger of country and city on a sneaker. Parra's design process is to draw and create "cool work" before figuring out how he can incorporate a sneaker to the design.

The design for this sneaker collab is a polka dotted stripped cloud color explosion on the White and Pure Platinum of the Air Max 1 and Zoom Spiridon. With Parra's signature on the forefoot, the sneakers feature a blue swoosh and color blocked outsoles.

Parra also lends the design to a tracksuit, which, when worn with the sneakers is a celebration of Dutch Street Culture.

Both Sneakers release July 21 at Nike.com.
