Converse X JW Anderson Juxtaposes Natural & Technical In Drop Three
All about that Turtle Green.
Following their beachy second drop, 'Simply Complex,' Converse and JW Anderson have released Drop Three of their collaboration, entitled 'New_Classics.' This time it's all about the juxtaposition of natural materials and technical veneering with open cotton-knit uppers, leather detailing, rubber foxing and vulcanized soles.
The drop comprises the Chuck 70 U-Throat Ballet and the Chuck 70 XX Hi, drawing inspiration from the vintage ballet slipper. “The vintage ballerina that inspired the shoe was actually more of a sport slipper in mesh,” says Anderson. “I liked the functionality and lightness of that shoe, and we decided to adopt some details to reinterpret the icon.”
The star of the show is the 'Turtle Green' Chuck 70 XX Hi which, in a similar color to your grandma's '70s bathroom suite, is packed full of vintage charm. And those all-the-way-up laces add a hint of daintiness to the classic silhouette.
