Beauty Boys: What’s That All About?

Females don't have monopoly in femininity and glam anymore and it's enriching every body, heres why:

POSTED BY SOFIE RIISE NORS

Through the last couple of years a new beauty movement has evolved where young boys and men have taken over the glam scene and are seriously out batteling the beauty queens on the field. You might have already head about Instagram sensation Bretman Rock and James Charles who was the first male to star on the cover of Cover Girl. The boys all started out as internet phenomenons where they gained millions of followers because of their beauty and make up skills, but it's not only about the glam.

On an everyday basis the boys are batteling bigotry and homophobia online and in real life, and bending gender stereotypes is not that easy. The oldschool perception on femininity and masculinity is strictly paired with either being female or male and it's seriously time to realise that life and humans are a little bit more complex than that. Also, being a feminine guy should not be confused with being transgender: being androgynous or just being feminin doesn't necessarily relate to your gender, it's a feeling you're identifying with and it can change over time. Women haven't had a hard time wearing suits and sneaks, why not allow guys in feminin culture?

Cheers to the gender benders, and let's celebrate that we're moving towards lighter times for all the queens out there, both male, female and everyone in between! And keep those make up tutorials comin', we're watching you!
